Introduction
The Work Study Officer will be responsible for analyzing and improving production processes within the clothing manufacturing facility. The role focuses on enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and establishing accurate work measurement standards to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of garments.
Key responsibilities
- Apply method study techniques to improve processes by reducing unnecessary motions, minimizing operator fatigue, and increasing overall efficiency.
- Conduct time studies to monitor operator performance and establish accurate hourly targets.
- Perform work measurement to set reliable and fair time standards for all operations.
- Monitor and evaluate production outputs, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance productivity.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare and submit daily reports on findings, improvements, and recommendations for management approval.
- Conduct garment breakdowns/construction analysis to determine Standard Minute Values (SMV).
- Ensure effective line balancing and bench balancing for different styles and production setups.
- Analyze workflow and implement quick changeovers to prevent production disruptions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the clothing/garment manufacturing industry.
- At least 3 years' proven experience as a Work Study Officer or in a similar industrial engineering role.
- Strong understanding of garment construction techniques.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of sewing machines, attachments, feet, and guides will be an advantage.
- Hardworking, results-driven, and able to work under pressure.
