Apart from the Brilliant R100 000 Value Prize...

We Asked a Few Entrants Why They Entered SA's Best-Dressed Team Award

Written by Amy Aries - 03 September 2025

When we announced the R100 000 prize in corporate clothing, a lot of people assumed that was the big wow, the 'you said whaaat!' drawcard. Besides, who wouldn't want a brand-new wardrobe for the entire office worth R100 000? But after talking to some of the amazing teams who put themselves forward, it became very clear to us that the prize was only part of the story. What really stood out was the pride they took and are taking (btw, entries are still open, but hurry- Enter the Competition Here) in how they present themselves, and how much they believe clothing can reflect the values and personality of their business. From print and finance to aviation and jewellery, the reasons for entering were remarkably similar.

Let's take a moment to celebrate just 4 out of the over 70 entries to date (and counting) and shine a light on exactly why they entered.

Our first 'Spotlight On' has been making Bold Impressions Since 2018…

1. VR Print

"The incredible ladies of VR Print are styled to perfection in the 'Nautical Red' look by Imagemakers and are ready to make an impression as bold as our print solutions - elegance meets excellence!" said Carla, their Financial Director.
VR Print has worked with Imagemakers since 2018. For them, uniforms aren't just something to tick off a list; they're part of how the company instils trust and shows credibility to their clients. Choosing Nautical Red wasn't about picking a colour that simply looked nice, it mirrored their brand identity - bold, millpond clear, and memorable. It's also a great reminder that the right colour palette can pull together different pieces of the overall theme, so every team member looks coordinated without being boring carbon copies of each other.

Next, a sales team that dresses to win…

2. Fulcrum Collect

"The Fulcrum Sales Team turn heads at client meetings and insurance events when kitted out in their sleek, professional style, dressed to impress by the incredible Imagemakers Corporate Fashion," shared Asiya, their General Manager.
For Fulcrum, corporate clothing is more than appearance - it's a business strategy. Their fitted blazers, blouses, and fitted pants allow for endless mix-and-match combinations. Everyone looks consistent, but not identical, which is what makes the concept of Perfect Pairing work so well. Each person has options, but the overall effect is a team that looks confident and trustworthy every time they walk into a room. We love how they embraced the competition and are definite contenders with the enthusiasm and style.

Next up is a team that never goes under the radar…

3. NAC Helicopters

"At NAC Helicopters, we take pride in making a strong impression - on the ground and up in the air. Our team proudly embodies professionalism, confidence, and elegance, all brought together by our sleek corporate workwear from Imagemakers," said Mishkaat, Operations Manager.
For the NAC Helicopters team, presentation is part of the passenger experience. From the moment a client walks into the hangar to the second they step onto the helipad, staff are dressed in a way that feels polished, unified and shouts 'safety first'. Their work uniforms are flexible enough to suit different roles but still tie the team together. That balance is exactly why coordinated office wear works - it adapts seamlessly (sorry!) without losing its impact.

How about a team that radiates excellence in every detail:

4. Afrogem

"Our Afrogem Team shines bright in Pacific Navy suits and Pearl Black blouses. In the jewellery industry, we don't just sparkle - we radiate excellence every day," explained Ramona, Showroom Manager at Afrogem Jewellers.
In a business where detail is absolutely everything, their look has got to match their promise. By combining navy suiting with crisp black shirts, Afrogem staff create a signature appearance that feels high-end but never repetitive. It's consistent enough to reassure clients, yet versatile enough to shine as bright as a diamond and carry them through a busy week.

Why These Teams Really Entered

These teams didn't just sign up to chase a prize (even though the prize is R100 000 worth of team workweardid we mention that?). They wanted to show how much their appearance means to their clients, their colleagues, and to the way their brand is represented and perceived. Comfortable in their own workwear, confident in who they are, and courageous enough to stand toe to toe and shoulder pad to shoulder pad with any business in South Africa. Whether it's Nautical Red, classic navy, or a more understated palette, their clothing choices are one of their USP's and sends a clear message: if we care this much about how we show up, then we clearly care about you.

The Bigger Picture: Perfect Pairings

What all these teams instinctively understand is what Imagemakers has always represented – the highest quality garments and the most flexible options that always feel cohesive. With just a handful of blazers, blouses, trousers or skirts, and a well-chosen dress or two, you can create a full week of different head turning looks. And Perfect Pairing isn't complicated, it's simply about choosing pieces that work together, so that everyone in the office can feel comfortable and still represent the brand as one.

More Than a Prize

From VR Print to Afrogem, these entries remind us that South Africa’s Best-Dressed Team Award is about more than R100K worth of clothing. It’s about showing how workwear can build confidence, influence client impressions, and bring unity to the workplace.
